This website is about Cumbrian railways. Here you can find writings and other general things about the railways of the county. The Cumbrian Engines is a fictional series (primarily aimed at children) about the railways of Cumbria and the engines which run them, and it has been going strong for nearly 5 years.
There are 15 volumes of "TCE", revolving around the Cumbrian Coast Line, the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway and more. The Eln Valley Railway is a fictional heritage line which runs from Carlisle into an imaginary northern valley of the Lake District, currently with two sets of ten stories written about it.
As a gap-year student, I regularly work as a volunteer on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway. If you are in the Lake District, then it is well worth a visit, running for 7 miles through Britain's finest scenery.
All pieces of writing in The Legendarium are being updated gradually and put into PDF format rather than Word Documents. I am about halfway though this process.
DISCLAIMER: All stories and characters on this website belong to the author and are not for reproduction or reusage elsewhere without prior permission. The Railway Series stories written by Wilbert and Christopher Awdry are classic children's literature, and I care about them - these stories are written as tributes to them.
